What it Means to be an Officer

Serving on the Butler University DECA Executive Officer team is a great honor where you will get the opportunity to give back to both the Butler and DECA communities! As an officer, you are expected to attend general, leadership, and executive officer meetings and will get hands on experience in event planning, communication, leadership, and specifically designated duties. Butler University DECA currently has 7 officer seats: President, Vice President of Administration, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Career Development, Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Hospitality, and Vice President of Leadership. Students looking to apply for next years officer seats should reference the requirements below and fill out the application link before Sunday, February 15th. Officer Requirements

  • Be enrolled as a student at Butler University at the beginning of their term

  • Keep at least a GPA of 2.5 throughout your term

  • Maintain good standing with Butler University

  • Fulfill the CDECA Individual Leadership Passport the year prior to your term

  • Attend the State and International Career Development Conference prior to your term
